Alexander Rossi leaves the action of Monaco second in the driver rankings following a strong weekend during the third round of the 2015 GP2 Series season. A strong and consistent weekend with Racing Engineering in Spain showcased a repeat of form from the opening round of the 2015 season, with Alexander battling for the win and picking up his second podium of the year (P3) in the feature race, and bringing home yet more valuable points for the team in P4 during Sunday's sprint race.

Alexander Rossi made a strong start to the 2015 GP2 Series season with a podium in his debut race for the team in Bahrain, and plenty of valuable points in the bag towards the title. After a strong pre-season test in Bahrain just a few weeks ago, Racing Engineering were looking positive for the first race of the year, and an eventful and exciting weekend which demonstrated the already strong partnership between Alexander and the team.

Bahrain International Circuit was the backdrop for the final pre-season GP2 Series test, with all teams attending the three day session ahead of the first race of the season. Alexander Rossi completed a strong and positive second test with Racing Engineering, and the three days showcased the strength of the series, with the top drivers just tenths of a second apart, and highlighted the calibre of teams competing in the 2015 season.

The 2015 GP2 Series year kicked off in Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit with all teams attending the first of the two pre-season tests.
The first session took place on Monday morning and with the circuit suffering from dusty and windy conditions, most of the teams used the first two hours of the session to work on the set-up of their cars. Towards the end of the first morning Alexander went fastest with a time of 1:50.845s, a positive start to the three day test.

This is also a good time to reflect on 2014 and it's important for me to share my journey and my appreciation towards all of you. The Marussia F1 Team will provide Alexander Rossi with the opportunity to make his Grand Prix debut at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix in Spa-Francorchamps.
Alexander will race alongside Jules Bianchi, substituting for Max Chilton while contractual issues are resolved.
Alexander joined the Team as Reserve Driver last month, the announcement coming at the Hungarian Grand Prix. He has taken part in a number of Friday morning Free Practice 1 sessions with his previous team but this weekend will see him ‘racing’ a Formula 1 car for the first time.
