Wanted to drop you all a quick note from Germany prior to rounds 9 and 10 this weekend at Hockenheim. Hope you are able to find what you need easier on my new and improved website. This is all still work in progress, just like racing and life.
I just can't believe how quickly the year is passing. One minute, I'm testing F1 over the winter in Spain, the next moment I'm challenging GP2 in the Middle East now we're at Hockenheim for rounds nine and ten of the GP3 series.
I look forward to capitalizing on my current 2nd place championship position this weekend in Germany. ART Grand Prix leads the Team Championship and we have proven to be at the sharp end of the stick.
I like the Hockenheim circuit, having tested here in June and previously raced in 2008 as a Formula BMW guest driver. It is very quick and flowing with a nice rhythm to it. The mix of technical and confidence corners is near perfect and the stadium section is a personal favorite. You enter in flat out with a quick right, the track narrows, and immediately you are in the circuit's heart with grandstands on every side of you. This is an exceptional experience and I look forward to putting on a show here.
The weekend forecast is mixed with a possible chance of rain. For many driver's this would not inspire confidence, but for me I relish the challenge. I like the wet and changing conditions as they usually play to my advantage.
This is my first year with ART and now really getting to know my team and their way of winning. We are exactly MID WAY through the season and it's my job to focus on getting the best from the car and capitalize on every opportunity toward winning a championship.
I'm at a 26 point deficit lying in 2nd to my teammate Esteban Gutierrez. However the way I look at it, Esteban acquired a 26 point advantage in 8 races and it is my job to gain 27 more than he in the next 8. Simple as that!
Thanks for logging on and checking in on updates. Enjoy the ride. As you know, I'll be doing everything possible to win a GP3 championship.
