Fortec Motorsports FR 3.5 driver, Alexander Rossi stormed to victory after a dominating performance in race two at Paul Ricard, Le Castellet, France for round eight of the World Series by Renault FR3.5 championship this afternoon.
Following a ‘tricky’ and wet qualifying session this morning where Alexander found it difficult to extract the best out of the car in qualifying, he still managed to set a lap time that put him on the front row of the race grid in P2.
Alexander made a great start to race two this afternoon, worrying the back of pole sitter Vergne, while closing the door and holding off HRT Formula 1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo. On lap 4 and with only a 0.4 second gap between them, Carlin’s Vergne chose to...

On the penultimate weekend of the 2011 World Series by Renault season, American driver Alexander Rossi fought to keep his car hampered by debris and rapidly degrading tyres on track for the whole of race one at the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track (HTTT) in the south of France today.
World Series by Renault is visiting the Paul Ricard HTTT in the spectacular setting of the Plateau du Castellet for the very first time this weekend and following an encouraging pre-season test with his new team and series at the track, Alexander was keen to get back to the racing action following two faultless drives at the Silverstone round last month.
In the morning Alexander was straight on to the pace and set an early P1 in first Qualifying. In a...

RESULT PENDING PROTEST BY FORTEC MOTORSPORTS FOR EXCLUSION OF BOTH DRIVERS ON 'TECHNICAL INFRINGEMENT'
Formula Renault Series 3.5 leading rookie Alexander Rossi achieved his sixth podium finish of the season today when he brought his Fortec Motorsports car home in second position in race two at Silverstone, UK.
After Alexander’s third place podium finish in race one yesterday, he had high hopes for another strong qualifying this morning. Rossi struggled, however, with the team’s set up for the session and was disappointed to set a 1:45.983 to sit on the third row of the grid in P6 for race two.
In warm and dry conditions this afternoon, Rossi held position during the opening laps of the race and had already achieved...

American driver Alexander Rossi brought home 15 valuable championship points with his 3rd place finish from the opening race of World Series by Renault at Silverstone circuit, UK today.
In the glorious morning sunshine Rossi was straight on the pace and set a time that shot him to P2 on to the time sheets immediately as qualifying commenced. In an intensely close fought battle for pole position with Robert Wickens, Rossi’s No: 7 Fortec Motorsports car was handling well, but even faultless laps set by Alexander could not help him to improve on his time of 1:45.410. He ended qualifying in P2 to start the afternoon’s race alongside the Carlin driver on the front row of the grid.
For race one the wind brought dark clouds and...

Alexander Rossi brought home 18 well deserved championship points and a 2nd place finish from the opening race at round six of World Series by Renault at the Hungaroring, Budapest, Hungary.
Despite the early threat of rain, the weather remained dry. Rossi was running in pole position for most of qualifying one this morning, but lost time in the last sector of his final flying lap and dropping him to a P5 grid spot during an extremely close fought session between the top six cars. However, Rossi was then promoted to P4 and a second row start position after a four-place grid penalty was incurred by second place Canamasas for a previous incident during the last round at the Nürburgring.
Rossi had a great start to race one this...

Fortec Motorsports driver Alexander Rossi heads to the Hungaroring in Budapest this week to contest round six of the 2011 World Series by Renault Championship.
The American driver is anxious to score points this weekend as he did when he achieved a spectacular GP3 series win at the track last year and a 3rd place podium finish at the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix while competing in the International Formula Master Series.
The Hungaroring is located at the borders of Mogyoród, 19 kilometres from the centre of Budapest. Lying in a natural valley, the circuit is normally dusty due to underuse and its sandy surrounding soil. The track frequently becomes faster during a qualifying session, which leads competitors to try for their best lap as...

On Saturday afternoon the race began on a damp track and so, with no predicted rain, the field started the race on slick tyres. Rossi’s Fortec Motorsports car was forced out wide as the pack jostled for position in the short run down to turn 1. He was running in P3 on the approach to Veedol...
