ALEXANDER ROSSI LOOKS FORWARD TO NÜRBURGRING DEBUT FOR WSR ROUND FIVE

Fortec Motorsports driver Alexander Rossi heads to Germany this week ready for strong race results and aiming to reclaim the top of the World Series by Renault (FR3.5) Championship standings.

The Nürburgring is a motorsport complex around the village of Nürburg, Germany. It features a modern Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a much longer old North loop (Nordschleife) track which was built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It is located about 70 km south of Cologne, and 120 km northwest of Frankfurt.

Alexander, a rookie in 2011 World Series by Renault, is making his first trip to the Nürburgring for round five of the Championship – the half-way point of the season....

Following an eventful race weekend in the Principality of Monaco, in which American Alexander Rossi and his fellow drivers supported the Formula One World Championship, Rossi lies third in the World Series by Renault Championship.

Saturday’s qualifying session saw the field split into two groups to limit the number of cars out on track at any one time; in order to give each car sufficient space to set qualifying laps. Alexander Rossi was in Group B which saw him go out on track in the latter part of the session. Following a tightly contested qualifying, in which the top four cars were split by only a few hundredths of a second, Rossi lined his Fortec Motorsport car up on the second row of the grid in P4.

After challenging start to Round 3 of World Series by Renault Championship in Monza, Italy, American driver Alexander Rossi ended the weekend with a very strong drive to second place and climbing his way back up to 2nd place in the World Series by Renault Championship standings.

The American driver started Saturday morning’s qualifying session for race one strongly and was running in P4 and just 0.07 seconds off pole. Unfortunately, Rossi suffered a car failure halfway through the session and was unable to set a time in the second half of the session, lining him 16th for the first race of the weekend.

Rossi had a near-perfect start to the season in Motorland Aragon, Spain with a win and a second place finishes. May 2, 2011 – Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium - American driver, Alexander Rossi fights to bring home more important championship points from second round of World Series by Renault at Spa-Francorchamps.
Despite the calm weather conditions, the Belgium venue played host to some drama in the closing stages of Qualifying 1, when two red flag situations interrupted running. Rossi and his Fortec Motorsport team had difficulty exiting the garage cleanly due to two cars blocking them in the fast lane of the pits while waiting for the session to re-start. However, once back out on track Rossi ended the session in 11th position losing out on pace to the dominant Carlin cars.

Fortec Motorsport driver, Alexander Rossi heads to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit as current World Series by Renault Championship leader to contest rounds three and four of the series this weekend.

American Alexander Rossi drove a faultless race to take a commanding win in the opening round of the World Series by Renault at Motorland Aragon today.
Following a tightly contested qualifying session, the rookie driver lined his Fortec Motorsport car up on the grid in second place, just 0.02 seconds off the pole lap set by Wickens.
As the lights went green, Rossi had a bit of wheel spin off the grid but was able to maintain P2 as Wickens made a mistake heading into the first corner, which saw him drop to P3, while Move took P1.

Following three successful pre-season tests, Fortec Motorsport driver, Alexander Rossi is ready for the opening rounds at Motorland Aragon, Alcaniz for the 2011 World Series by Renault Championship.

In March, Rossi and Fortec Motorsport had six productive pre-season collective test days in Barcelona, Paul Ricard and Motorland Aragon. Rossi, a veteran to the circuits but new to championship winning team Fortec Motorsport, used this valuable time to fine tune the set up for his driving style and build internal relations with team. These tests were diverse with mixed weather conditions, enabling Rossi and his team of engineers to prepare, collecting valuable data for a variety of situations for the upcoming season.
