Excellent World Series by Renault test in France, leaves Alexander Rossi and FORTEC confident ahead of series opener next month in Spain

Following already two successful winter tests in Spain earlier this month, Alexander Rossi spent the past two days circulating Paul Ricard, Le Castellet, France for the third collective pre-season FR3.5 test with Fortec Motorsport.

Sunny and warm conditions, ideal for testing, greeted Alexander and the Fortec Motorsport team on their arrival at the two day test which began on Tuesday morning.

March 16, 2011 - Following a productive test at Aragon Motorland, Spain last week, Alexander Rossi was once again behind the wheel this week for the 2nd collected FR3.5 test with Fortec Motorsport at the Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona, but only for a few frustrating sessions. Torrid rain and changing conditions over both test days meant that the Fortec Motorsport team was not able to make use of the excellent testing track at Barcelona and made little progress into the planned testing program on either day of the test.

American racing driver Alexander Rossi has been selected by the FIA Institute to take part in its inaugural Young Driver Excellence Academy in 2011.

Alexander is one of twelve drivers from across the world, and from a variety of racing formulae, that have been accepted onto this prestigious program following an intensive three-day shoot out.

Eighteen drivers, who had been nominated for the Academy by their FIA-affiliated national sporting associations, took place in the three-day assessment in Austria, which consisted of being put through their paces on the track, at the gym and in the classroom.

November 29,2010, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - American, Alexander Rossi put together the fourth fastest lap of the two-day GP2 test in Sunday's final session, driving Racing Engineering's Dallara GP2/08 around the 3.45-mile (5.5-km) Yas Marina Circuit in 1:47.280.

Rossi, a California native was only .142-second slower than Michael Herck's test-topping 1:47.138, also done Sunday afternoon. Rossi was the fastest rookie in the test, which concluded on-track activity for GP2 until next year.

After a successful test last week in Barcelona, America's F1 potential, Alexander Rossi, joined World Series by Renault for the next round of post-season testing at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain. Rossi, with ISR Racing, continued clocking laps at the top of the leader board recording the fastest time on the second day of the Formula Renault 3.5 collective test with a 1:42.798.
